Home Visit: Volunteers visit with our neighbours in need, usually in their homes, to assess the need, providing emergency assistance in the form of grocery gift cards &/or vouchers for non-perishable food and personal hygiene items, clothing, household items or furniture, to be redeemed at the Thrift Store, 143 Wellington St. (at Clarence), Brantford. Since the outset of the pandemic, conversations have been held mostly by telephone, for the safety and comfort of all.
NOTE: As of June 15, 2021, SSVP Brant Thrift Store will re-open for retail shopping, following our pandemic schedule of Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Our conferences will resume providing emergency assistance in the form of clothing, household items and furniture as well as food and personal hygiene items. Note: For the first few weeks we will be limited to 6 shoppers at a time (i.e. 15% capacity) in the retail space – so we will be limiting shopping time to 30-minute periods.
